Bellevue University captured 6th place in the first-ever national rankings released by Washington Monthly highlighting Best Colleges for Adult Learners. It achieved this ranking among America's four-year colleges, based on data pulled from the Department of Education's Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) survey and the department's new College Board's Annual Survey of Colleges.
Schools that achieved high rankings in this newly released data did so based on openness and responsiveness to adult students and a measure of grad success.
More than 40 percent of the 20.2 million students attending American colleges and universities today are adults, defined as 25 years or older. Unlike traditional undergrads, adult learners are juggling full-time jobs and family responsibilities.
